                    Have you encountered the word "Selfie".? As Mr. Wiki said it is a type of self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a hand-held digital camera or camera phones; that is the definition but, it is not the end of it. There are some more reasoning definition about the said topic according to different areas like psychology,sociology,popularity,and many more. For me Selfie is an expression by means of visualizing the photo taken by you, In short it is the reflection of who you are.

The Meaning of Selfie by Authors

I found an article"The Meaning of Selfie" by James Franco. Selfies are something new to me, but as I have become increasingly addicted to Instagram, I have been accused of posting too many of them. I was called out on the “Today” show, and have even been called the selfie king. But a well-stocked collection of selfies seems to get attention. And attention seems to be the name of the game when it comes to social networking. In this age of too much information at a click of a button, the power to attract viewers amid the sea of things to read and watch is power indeed. It’s what the movie studios want for their products, it’s what professional writers want for their work, it’s what newspapers want — hell, it’s what everyone wants: attention. Attention is power. And if you are someone people are interested in, then the selfie provides something very powerful, from the most privileged.

It means no worry of what you are posting or doing in your account like instagram . Everybody can assult you,write a bad comments but no one can stops you to do that bacause it is you and no one can stop that just yourself

   According to James Franco tell to us is just to have "We speak of the celebrity selfie, which is its own special thing. It has value regardless of the photo’s quality, because it is ostensibly an intimate shot of someone whom the public is curious about. It is the prize shot that the paparazzi would kill for, because they would make good money; it is the shot that the magazines and blogs want, because it will get the readers close to the subject". Very funny thing to hear but it is a big key to us ,to know the celebrities that we are idolizing .For many reasons like it has no limitation,no one stop you to do that,and no one can say that you are wrong. So in that case we as a fan we are updated to what they are doing by means of checking our accounts on facebook,twitter,and instagram.

It means about what are the different kind of poses that we saw in our accounts , something new to hear and it's a new learning on how you translate or what do you call that kind of photo.




According to Carol Ramoran there are 8 Strange selfie trends "Just when you think you've seen it all, you scroll through your Instagram feed only to find yet a new online trend. In the age of foodstagrams and selfies, there's just no stopping people from finding something new that could be amusing to post"
There are many kinds of different pose in different areas of Social media. All what Carol Ramoran says is to know what are the correct name of it and what does come from. It's only right to point out that selfies are not just for vanity or entertainment. It's also been used as an awareness campaign. An unselfie is basically a photo of someone covering his or her face, often with a caption indicating a special cause. A few days after Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) left the Visayas devastated, celebrities, famous personalities, and netizens used the hashtag to promote typhoon recovery and direct attention away from personal vanity, towards the cause.

        

                                 

It is a big oppurtunity to us and have a wide coverage on how we connect to other people by means of Internet, and for the application that we used so that it's more quite easy to us to getting to know each other, but as a Human being we have the key to choose on how the person you may know more about his/her life. It is to express what you want to say by means of visualizing the photo of you everyone who saw that interact about it.
